Family

Dr. Campbell offers help to family members and the close contacts affected by addictions. Addictive disorders frequently leave the family hurting, scared, angry and alone. There can be significant psychologic pain on the family as well as worry about that loved one. Dr. Campbell understands this from a personal level after seeing his brother go through the pains of addiction and the power of recovery. He saw the effects this had on his family and felt it personally. He saw how family services helped his family support a successful recovery.

This personal experience inspired his work in the field and importance of attending to the family. It instills an understanding how difficult the psychiatric and addiction world can be to navigate. It takes his direct experience working in these worlds to help bring clarity on the navigation of the system alongside strong evidence based therapy that is proven to help.

The specific treatment implemented to help families is called Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT). This treatment works directly with the family/close contacts of a person suffering with addiction. Through working with a motivated and concerned significant other, this treatment has been studied and implemented to be highly impactful and effective at the following:

1.) Dramatically increase the likelihood of your loved one entering treatment

2) Helping your loved one/identified patient significantly decrease their substance use

3.) Improve your quality of life markedly (unrelated to their substance use changes.)
